Anavictoria Avila is an Associate at Redwood Public Law, providing legal and strategic advice to cities, counties, and special districts across California. Anavictoria advises clients in multiple areas of law including contract drafting, land use, conflicts of interest, code enforcement, the Brown Act, and more.

She also joins Redwood with experience in the music, arts, and entertainment industry, and she will be advancing the firm’s intellectual property practice. Prior to law school, Anavictoria was immersed in the arts industry as a professional artist, muralist, and musician. She brings a creative mindset to her legal practice, which enables her strength in developing trust with clients she serves across artistic industries.

Her practice spans a broad range of intellectual property and transactional matters, including negotiating and drafting copyright, licensing, music recording, merchandising, and production agreements. Prior to joining Redwood, Anavictoria was an Arts & Entertainment Fellow with the Sustainable Economies Law Center (SELC). Through SELC, she provided bilingual legal services and educational webinars to small business owners and artists of all disciplines, including poets, musicians, sculptors, fashion designers, etc. Anavictoria has also been recognized for her academic contributions on the intersection of artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and the arts. She is often invited to speak at conferences, which include speaking engagements at NYU Law School and San Francisco State University.

In addition, Anavictoria brings more than eight years of experience in government affairs and managing legislative campaigns. She was a law school clinician for the first 6 years of her career, and she is a former faculty member of Berkeley Law School’s Policy Advocacy Clinic. As a clinical supervisor, she taught law and policy students while representing nonprofits in juvenile justice reform efforts across California, Illinois, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Puerto Rico. Anavictoria remains a passionate advocate for children with disabilities, the economic success of emerging artists, and strengthening local communities through small business development.
